| And it said to her, "Look up. I'm beautiful, And I'm a reflection Of you." It smiled down and It lit the way, And as she began to cry, It began to rain. The tears streamed down, The thunder crashed, And suddenly, She felt the urge To fly away forever, Maybe go somewhere More beautiful than she, And take it in In gasps of awe, Without ever knowing That it wasn't real. She can feel her bones here, The weight of all her sorrow, Jabbing her body And beating it Into submission. So when it smiles, It smiles inside So no one else can see, And so does she. |
