 | Sitting in a Cafe Pondering the Day Away |
(Or one last farewell before you go)
You sit here sick in your Desoto shirt For once wearing your glasses proper Braided hair dancing down your back with grace Quiet. Silent. Wordless. Voiceless. To me. Looking out windows at those who pass by Writing at the thoughts coasting in your mind Thoughts of nothing or that you care to share Perhaps of times past; of horses rode Or of home - that ranch in Missouri That life is gone my friend, but then again - So is this one or it is soon to be Short, yet our act ready to draw a close You've known me for but two years this time Forever, timeless, microscopic Laughing over never before said words, Sugar wars sugar fights consume our time no - sour candy for you; cookies for me - And when you move, as you will, as you leave; My good wishes will always be for you But though I'll miss our playful debates And have tears in sad anticipation - When I deliver this good-bye to you I say to my best friend with my whole heart
For me, ride the horses that you dream of And find your home that you lost long ago While I bid adieu to you - forever For although it pains all my heart to say: I hope to never meet with you again.
